Hi all, I am 7 months quit on Saturday yeeha!! My husband has quietly joined me in my quit journey, he doesn't talk about it much, but he announced this morning he has made 1 week quit today. He cut down for a week or two and then he went cold turkey. He's been a bit feisty on a few occasions but considering he's going cold turkey I have to be honest I was more moody than him in my beginning with assistance of NRT lol. I am so very proud and I'm quietly encouraging him but not bringing up the subject as he rather just get on with it than talk about it. I really hope he can make it, but i know if he slips up, i wont be mad, I'll just encourage him to not throw that towel in and to keep going. We decided we will celebrate weekly by a dinner out at the club. Better spend of hard earned $$$ and far more enjoyable!!! 😊😊

That is so awesome Leanne. When people see us being successful it gives them the incentive to at least try. I am sure he will conquer this addiction with help from a great quit coach! Congrats to you too for over 200 days now.

Hi, funny how men don't talk about things like we do. I am sure that your quitting has helped him in his mind. If she could do it so can I! he may not say it but bet he thinks it. good that you are there for support. and congrats on your 7 months. Do you still have craving? do you think about it much? I am just on day 11 so still fresh in my mind. many thanks

Thank you happiness and Debbie317. In answer to your questions Debbie no I do not have actual cravings anymore only a passing thought now and then and I just dismiss it. To be honest I think about how I've quit every day. I fought so hard to get to where I am and I relish every single day in my freedom from the putrid addiction. I have a permanent guard up at all times as i have slipped up before after a long quit. Not one puff ever again for me😊 Stay strong Debbie you are doing an awesome job if you can do 11 days you can do 11 more, just focus on one day at a time, you've got this!!

Hi Leeann, Thanks for posting your stories, I read a few of yours way back months ago. You've become successful through sheer guts, will power & determination. Debbie317 and others would benefit in reading all the good advice and encouragement the others gave you through some of your difficult times.
And I find it hard to talk/text about stuff on here, reluctant to write my own story, but I enjoy reading others
Thank you guys for your stories and comments to read......:)

Thank you Puffnomore I have this website to thank so much for all the wonderful support I've received. I too enjoy reading people's journeys also. That's ok you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. Take care

Awwww thank you so much Robn your encouragement and others means the absolute world to me. I think we all spur one another along with our support and never give up attitudes. This quitting business is not for the faint hearted lol but all you wonderful people taught me how to stop missing it, and that is golden. I truly never ever want to turn back. Not sure about the legend part Robn, you are now giving me way more credit than I probably deserve. All's I know is I'm so happy and proud to be a part of the non smoking committee, loud and proud instead of hiding and sneaking a filthy habit.👌

When we stop missing it, the game is up, the pattern of addiction would be broken, through sheer determination you have made it.
You can thank your lucky stars that you have wonderful mentors on this community to spur you along. To stop the "habit" is not an easy business for most of us, but you are worthy of legend status,. Keep up your NOPE, stay happy and DONT SMOKE. and hopefully your hubby has seen the light and never smokes again either

Hubby cheated tonight but hid it from me. That's ok it was a situation where he was challenged by alcohol, we both were, partying Senario. I was not challenged smoking wise at all but hubby succumbed to the excuse to let go. Hey I get it this is a crossroads that I know unfortunately all to well. Just acknowledging how far I've come and thinking how easy these scenarios are to walk from for me now. But hey FYI I'm not cocky cos I know all to well & im super vigilant to never buckle Nope. Sigh......... tomorrow is a new day with fresh chances and I can only hope hubby wants to not throw that towel in😊

Sorry about your hubby Leanne. I trust you have educated him about the mindset and how nicotine works.
The good news is that he has tried, and that he knows that a craving and the fear of quitting has been over exaggerated. Better a slip now than 3 weeks. I am sure he will get up, dust himself off and continue on. After all , you have set the bar, and most men are competitive. Whatever the motivation, all is good and to use to your advantage in this journey.
