Hi everyone
Well I checked my Quit Buddy phone app today and it reports that I have been smoke free now for 911 days and I have saved $31,421 dollars (in the cost of cigarettes back at the time I quit) so by now would be quite a bit more than what the app reports. I highly recommend the Quit Buddy app along with this great website in tandem, both of which were key to my successful quit once and for all.
There are only a few old mates still here that I've noticed who (like me) pop in to give a quick update on their continued success with the hope it'll encourage others starting out or early in their journey that there truly is a rainbow on the horizon. Well, I can tell you it is possible and I consider myself one of the tragic smokers who tried and tried and tried again and thought I would never be able to kick the habit. Always angry at myself when I failed, I would pick myself up and have another go and I am so glad I did. I remember when Lia was marking 900 and a thousand days... I thought..., my goodness, I can't ever imagine I would be able to say that too and here I am. I love being able to sit at a dinner table for hours now chatting and drinking without plotting in my head some feable excuse to duck outside. I love that I can still hang around smokers and not feeling the slightest bit tempted. I feel good I've not become one of those greatly disliked ex-smoker lecturering types so can still enjoy the company of many long time (still smoking) friends.
Keep going all of you and the very best of luck. You will do it. And, hi to any of the old crew still checking in..., I hope you're all continuing in success and happiness in life without the slavery of disgusting, expensive cigarettes. :-)
