169 day journey

Hi All

I started my journey 169 days ago, yes I had a couple of slip ups and my last forced cigarette was New Year’s Eve and have not had a cigarette this year so makes it 56 days completely smoke free.

I went out for the first time on the weekend and I don’t know why but I was a little worried that I might have one, 4 of us went out 3 where smokers and I not. I mean I have no desire of having not even a puff, I am so not interested just the thought of the after tast, yuk 🤢

Anyway we all sat outside they all light up, didn’t bother me and must say I didn’t notice unless the smoke woofed up my nose 👃.

I had to go to the doctors last week as my reflux can get unbearable, I had a Helicobacter pylori test done,( highly recommended after you quit smoking) Doc doesn’t want to give me anything until this test was done. I am booked in for tomorrow they say it’s not urgent but doc does need to see me. So hopefully it’s only something miner. ( I have never had that kinda call before normally you have to chase them up).

So all in all I feel good my smoking days are behind me, I have achieved so much in 169 days, physically, mentally And its so good to have money in my pocket, I’m a lot calmer than I was when I was smoking and my thought process is so much better now than before.

Life’s good. 👍👍👍

You now know that you can go out among friends smoking around you.
Its always a relief to prove to yourself of successfully negotiating through previous trigger situations. Its a win and very satisfying for you I'm sure.

Congrats girl you are doing AMAZING!!!! Hope you're feeling super proud of yourself as you are nailing this. Its ok you've slipped up in the past, but you sound stronger than ever. Its great when you nail those social situations, they just get easier and easier. NOPE....... Stay strong and focused SuzyQ92 as you are on the home stretch to freedom now😊 Hope you are rewarding yourself along the way and high 5 to you🖐

You and I were parallel from the get-go!
    Today 170 days.
I too have a problem since then, in the hospital:
A continuous feeling of gas that is making my while torso hurt. Thus also affects breathing -- just like after stuffing yourself. It got better, but now it's back...

That's wonderful, When you realize that there is no need, or want left in you, then you really embrace being a non smoker. :)

Thanks everyone, your comments are very much appreciated. 😁 so it turns out I am now anemic, go figure. Didn’t see that one coming, so still suffering with reflux and have taken more blood test. The upside is this can be fixed. Just as well I gave up smoking the doc bills are starting to cost as much as the smokes..😂

    Hi SuzyQ.
I dont have the reflux problem, But If I dont eat red meat for a week I go a little bit anemic..
The anemic thing runs in my family lines and it always fixed through the diet, I hope its just as easily fixed with you. AND well done for over 170 DAYZ!!
