Smoke Free. ??? Days and Who Cares

I’ve been ciggie free for over a month and a half and I’ve honestly stopped counting the days

Out of sight = out of mind

And this forum has helped a ton by having so much great info

But I still believe the trick is to erase the thought that you’ve ever smoked from your mind

How am I doing this??

By changing up all my old routines I had as a smoker with new ones

And feeling healthier without that damn smoke in your mouth all the time makes it easier

I did it cold turkey. Just keep fighting👍😬

    Hi Iwant2 .

You initially came to us looking for positive reinforcement because you needed to do this.
Your desire to quit this time around was real and you found the belief in yourself. We can quit when we stop letting the negatives hold us back and make it difficult.

You almost broke down a couple of times, but when you think more about what you would be losing if you took that addictive puff of nicotine, you can find the strength to resist it and train your mind to set against such harmful thinking.

There is so much we lost because of smoking. It is simply time that we take control.
    Congratulations on doing that Iwant2.

You are totally correct on everything. I feel free even though it’s only been a short time, but I’m not falling back. .

    Don’t need that sh*t anymore

    😬

Thanks for this guys. I recently am trying again after going cold turkey a few months ago but it was to hard so im trying champix something to try and help which i also know i need will power. Sometimes it's just very difficult to even cope and i feel down and depressed. But you gave a good tip there doing things differently then you did when you smoked, I just don't know what that is yet. Smoking is becoming way to costly which is one of the reasons i want to stop it's just been years and some days i don't know how i will cope. :(

    Hey Mia

I think that depression is a normal part of the quitting process.

I believe it’s the nicotine withdrawal messing with the brain.

For a couple of weeks I was a total mess , crying for no reason .. having fits etc

But the great part is that it goes away and then you feel great. Just hang in there and know that we are all here for you

    👍❤️😬

Hey! So it’s been 38 weeks so far. And I’m doing really well I haven’t smoked I haven’t even wanted to, those depressing feelings that felt like I had lost a friend lasted about a week and after that I’ve been pretty good! I’ve seen more clearly and also I find now that smoking actually caused me more stressed and depressed, yes I still have IRL issues but I’m dealing with them without smoking and I feel really proud! I’m going to keep pushing I also do breathing exercises which relax me to and try to keep my mind busy! But Thankyou so much I’ve read so many stories and it really helps me to push and know I can do it! I also look at the Breakroom app to see how much money I’ve saved and how well I’ve done! I do like not smoking as I can tell the benefits of not doing it and it makes me feel really great! But Thankyou 💖😊
