I think it's disgusting on this website uses methods to stop that clearly is not working ,but one method they did not post was the method of Acupuncture Laser therapy- This method is literally 95% effective but yet insurance companies will not cover it, but they will cover the patch, and the gum like huh? The patch and Gum has nicotine in it- but Laser Acupuncture does not . I dont understand how the Government and Philip Morris International sit back and collect trillions of dollars while people are dying from this, so sickening to my stomach, there are over 7000 chemicals in cigarettes and yet more and more chemicals are being added so major companies can get part of t hat trillion, unbelievable.

I am glad that acupuncture worked for you. It is not something that we are that familiar with., as not many have tried in in my three years on this site. If it is proven to work then yes, it should be covered by insurance. How many sessions does it take? And to what expense? Paying out of pocket will still be a savings I am sure. Smoking is not cheap and when we do hear more success stories about quitting smoking with acupuncture then perhaps the governments with change their stance.

Reading Allan Carr's book is free and very effective. The government does not recognize it either. What is more important to the smoker? Money or health?
How much has smoking cost already and how much more are we willing to spend? What is today's rate on FREEDOM?

Well, so much for learning anything new about acupuncture. Would anyone like to their experience with this alternative? What about hypnosis?

    Hi Happiness,

I've tried hypnosis, but sadly it didn't work for me. The lady who was trying to hypnotise me said not many people can actually be hypnotised. I did three sessions then gave up because my private health didn't cover it. I was out of pocket (I think) around $200 each time.

She said I was "almost" there to being hypnotised, but I just gave up.

The only really really great thing I found out was my 'happy place'. She asked me to go there and I said I had none. She asked me a whole bunch of questions and now I have one.

I go to it in times if bad cravings and it helps enormously!

My Aunty on the other hand, she quit by hypnosis. She is around 60yo now and she quit in her early 30s from hypnosis.

Not to be confusing, but my other Aunty went with her and she still hasn't been able to stop smoking.

She started smoking when she was 17 and is now 70 years old.

Sorry for rambling. My best advice is to try it before you knock it, because you just do not know what will work for you.
