When I started smoking back in the 70"s to be cool and fit in, I got addicted, failed at quitting and condemned my self to later life issues that may have been avoided.
I suffered a stroke which terrified me , but thankfully I recovered my left side which I lost and did habitation.
I recently had a hernia operation and just clearing my throat caused much pain,. I can't imagine hacking endlessly!,
I have recently learned that I have osteoporosis and how it starts back in our 30's and left unchecked can cause such bone deteriorating. Smoking helps hasten it along. There are facts that everyone should know, not just smokers.
My doctor told me to take Vitamin D which had always been fine. I assumed that my other vitamins and such important levels such as magnesium and calcium would be fine. My BONE DENSITY is at risk. I will share a bit more for those who are interested in this.
Bottom line is that we don't know what lies ahead. I am glad that I quit 5 years ago when I did .
