Hello, I’m new here as I have to give up smoking because of health issues (really bad cough and tachycardia). Here my major problem begins: I HAVE to, but I don’t want to. And I have really no clue how to deal with having no cig and I don’t want to suffer from craving all the time, as I have already been very sick and suffering the last 10 years from a massive burn out. I don’t think I have any more power to struggle. Could anyone please comment on this please? This would be very helpful.

I have been using the wim hof breathing method in times of extreme anxiety and plan on using it while quitting, it's on YouTube but take it slow if your health is a concern and build up.

keep positive try and see how you go. Make an honest effort you may find that you are the best quitter on this site. The health benefits may not be evident straight away but after a month or so you may just be thinking 'that was a great decision I feel well againg"

The breathing and all forms of meditation breathing is my main advice.

Please let me know if you liked it or not I'm almost certain it will help

It is nice to see the support Freedom2024 and it is frustrating that comments take so long to post. I don't know if there is a way to delete them, but don't worry, you are not the first that it has happened to. Next time click on post and wait for 20 seconds or so . I find it frustrating that I am cut off at times in the middle of a thought. But where there is a will there is a way and I just make another comment. Keep trying and you will master this sight just as you have mastered your destiny.
I suggest that you read our stories Iwantsun and start thinking that you do not wantsun,

It takes a lot of teeth grinding to do something by force and so much less effort when it is something that you want to do. Find the desire to quit by reading stories and using helpful hints as to get through those annoying cravings. Think of them as the nicomonster in the throes of dying because he is at your mercy. You have the power to slay the evil addiction. The effort is well worth all the good that you will experience through it all and the final freedom from slavery to feeding it on demand. You don't really like smoking, but you keep the addiction alive to avoid cravings .

    Good morning Iwantsun
please take the time to read others past and recent experiences on this site and you will discover everyones journeys are different their methods are different yet similar as they all want to quit and stay quit, many have struggled with the initial quit thinking it’s impossible but you will find how others have found strength through several attempts and with a positive mindset and support to eventually succeed.
