For the first time in 32 years of smoking, I'm determined to quit. 1 week ago I left my doctor's having found out I had emphysema at 48. That was the biggest wake up call for me albeit too late. I've tried to quit before, and I've only lasted a few days at most. This time there are no excuses for me not succeeding.

    Welcome PRCJ
For far too long we have made excuses, denied our fear of quitting smoking and refused to believe that It could happen to ME!
You have come to the right place to reinforce your commitment to yourself and to desire this change for the future. We can quit smoking when we have a mind to.

Sincerely wishing you all the very best in your fresh attempt. Sometimes a big wake up call is all what we need to get rid of this mindless, useless habit. It’s not like we do this without knowing that it’s a completely useless distraction more than anything else. Go for walks, meditate, pray and we will take it one day at a time. I am saying one day at a time because I know how hard it is and I have failed many times before as well.
But hey, our past doesn’t need to define our future.
    Good luck
