Everything that helps you stay calm and focused seems to work. After two months of being smoke-free, my cravings have almost vanished, and I am feeling much better than I expected.

Well done on reaching 2 months being smoke free. I find keeping busy works well for me. I haven't tried meditation, but I will add it to my list and see how it helps.

Thanks, PRCJ; I'm also keeping busy and enjoying eating. I have gained 10+ kg since quitting, despite regular gym activities. It's better to carry a bit of weight than die of lung cancer :) Keep going it gets much easier !!

I have heard that meditation does work although I have not tried it. I do know that slow, deep breathing does lower the blood pressure, and so calms the body. I think meditation is much like that and I am glad some find it a useful tool. Positive thinking and the acceptance is also calming. Fighting and resisting are of course the opposite.

Cravings do pass, and we really CAN expect that. This journey does not have to be as hard as we imagined. It certainly wasn't for me and many others. I am glad that you pointed this out and hope it helps others to embrace the journey and be happy ....
