Looking for distraction strategies on a busy schedule!

I first tried to quit smoking at 21. Didn't succeed until I was 27! For half a year. Then I smoked until 32! Quit until 36! A little over three years. Picked it up again 3 months ago, now desperately a pack a day addicted again, with a toddler who I won't smoke in front of, yet. But today I have a patch on and I'm going to order peppermint lollipops here in a sec.

Thing is, I have 6 hours of class and 4 hours of tutoring tomorrow.

Seems like a REALLY bad time to quit...the stress of it all...

I may get up in the morning and run down the block and back. I will probably buy two packs of gum and mints. I will definitely put on a patch. Can anyone think of anything else that may help me? From things to do with my hands to mantras to tell myself, I am very much wanting to hear anything!

Can you believe I am in a NURSING program and picked up smoking again? Evil little things, "give you nothing and rob you of everything." That is right.

There is always time to take a breath Mireanne. Breathe in, count to 5, breathe out. Repeat. Not only will this distract you but also lower your blood pressure and calm you.
Keep telling yourself that you can do this just as you have before. Always remember NOPE. Keeping a vow to yourself to quit and all your reasons to do so on hand makes it easier to endure and succeed.
Nourish your body with good food to help speed up the healing, and give your mind positive thoughts to chew on.
Take a breath. You CAN do this Mireanne.
