Supercars Competition Terms and Conditions

Things you need to know:

Entry is open to all NSW residents within Australia who are 18 years and over, except employees, agents or contractors of Cancer Institute NSW and other companies associated with the promotion and their immediate families. Competition closes at 11:59pm AEST on 1 October, 2019.

 

iCanQuit ‘Supercars’ Competition - Terms and Conditions

1. Information on how to enter and prize details form part of these terms and conditions. By entering this promotion, you are deemed to have accepted these terms and conditions.

2. This promotion is being run by the Cancer Institute NSW, ABN 48 538 442 594, Level 9, 8 Central Ave, Australian Technology Park, Eveleigh NSW 2015 ("promoter”, “we", “us” or “our”).

3. The promotion starts at 9am AEST on 23 September, 2019. Entries close and must be received by 11:59pm AEST on 1 October, 2019 ("promotion period").

Who can enter?

4. Entry is open to all NSW residents within Australia who are over the age of 18, with the exception of employees or contractors of the promoter and other companies associated with the promotion and their immediate families, who are not eligible to enter.
How do you enter?

5. To enter, you must, during the promotion period:


a) Visit the Official Supercars social platform post on Facebook.

Comment directly on the dedicated Facebook post with competition entry in full (“eligible entry”) answering the following question:

“Pledge to WIN the ultimate Bathurst Supercars Experience!

Tell us why you want to quit smoking and the date you plan to quit and you could win 1 of 10 ultimate Bathurst supercars Experiences including:

- Major prize x 2 – Four-day pass to Bathurst, a Chopper ride over Mt Panorama, grid walk and course car ride for you and a mate

- Runners up x 8 – Four-day pass to Bathurst & a Chopper ride over Mt Panorama for you and a mate

Entries close Tuesday, 1 October, 2019.”

b) Submission must include a written comment on the competition Facebook post with an eligible entry outlining the following:

i. The calendar date the entrant intends to quit smoking.

ii. The motivator factor/s that have encouraged the entrant to quit smoking.

6. You can only enter the competition once and your first response will be considered your eligible entry.

7. Entries that are incomplete, incorrect or illegible will be deemed invalid.

8. Entries must comply with the iCanQuit – NSW GOV Page Rules outlined in the ‘About’ tab of the iCanQuit – NSW GOV Facebook page. www.facebook.com/pg/icanquitNSW/about/?ref=page_internal

Prize

9. This is a game of skill.

10. There are Major prizes and 8 Runner up prizes to be won, consisting of the below:

Major Prizes x 2

a) 2 x Four day pass to the Bathurst Supercars event Thursday 10th – Sunday 13th October.

b) 2 Chopper ride vouchers (Timing of experience to be dictated by Cancer Institute NSW)

c) 2 Grid Walk vouchers

d) 2 Course car ride vouchers

Runner up prizes x 8

a) 2 x Four day pass to the Bathurst Supercars event Thursday 10th – Sunday 13th October.

b) 2 Chopper ride vouchers

11. Major prizes are valued at $1,658.00 each.

12. Runner up prizes valued at $558.00 each.

13. The total prize pool value is $7,780.00.

14. The winners will be decided by a panel of judges.

15. The 2 winning entries and 8 runner up entries will be judged on the below criteria:

- Ability to directly answer the competition question (adheres to the topic)
- Creativity of the response
- Originality of the response
- Perceived genuineness of the response

16. All competition entries must be submitted in English.

17. The winners will be notified in writing via Facebook direct message from iCanQuit – NSW GOV.

18. Our decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.

Unclaimed prize draw

19. If a prize remains unclaimed after 3 working days, the prize will be offered to the first runner up. If this prize remains unclaimed after 2 working days the prize will be offered to the second runner up.

Prize Conditions

20. You are only eligible to win one prize. We reserve the right to withdraw a prize at our discretion or if there are no eligible entrants to receive that prize.
A prize, or any unused portion of a prize, cannot be transferred, exchanged or redeemed for cash. All other expenses associated with the prizes are the responsibility of the winners.
General

21. The promoter reserves the right, at any time, and in its sole discretion to (a) request entrants to provide proof of identity and address and/or proof of valid entry (b) disqualify any entrant who the promoter has reason to believe has breached any of these conditions or engaged in any unlawful or other improper conduct or any conduct calculated to jeopardise the fair and proper conduct of the promotion.

22. Entries are accepted at the time of receipt by us. We will not be held liable for any entries not received for any reason during the promotion period.

23. We are not responsible for any variation in the value of a prize.

24. If we are unable to provide a winner with the prize (or part of the prize), Supercars will supply an alternative prize (or that part of the prize) of greater or equal monetary value and/or specification, subject to any written directions from a regulatory authority.

25. If for any reason, we are not able to conduct the promotion as planned, including due to tampering, unauthorised intervention, fraud, any technical difficulties or any other causes beyond our control, which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of this promotion, we reserve the right in our sole discretion to take any action that may be available, subject to State and Territory regulations.

26. We exclude all warranties in relation to the quality, suitability or merchantability of a prize, except those that cannot be excluded by law. To the fullest extent permitted by law, any liability of the Promoter or its employees or agents for breach of any rights a consumer may have which are unable to be excluded under Australian Law, is limited to the payment of the costs of having the prize supplied again.

27. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss (including indirect and consequential loss) or damage or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with the promotion including the supply of goods or services by any person to the prize winners. We accept no responsibility for any tax liabilities that may arise from winning the prize.

28. If the winner chooses not to take the prize or any component of it (or is unable to), they forfeit the prize and we are not obliged to substitute the prize or any component.

29. This promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by or associated with Facebook. By entering this competition you agree to release Facebook from any or all liability in connection with this competition.

30. The promoter reserves the right to disqualify any entrants who have engaged in behaviour in public or on social media platforms which is contrary to the values of the Cancer Institute NSW or could pose a reputational risk to the Cancer Institute NSW. 

Privacy

31. By entering this promotion, you agree that we may use the personal information and quotes we collect from you:

a) to conduct this promotion, including determining and notifying the winners, disclosing that information to prize suppliers; and

b) for future marketing purposes in any media, including contacting you after this promotion ends,

on the terms set out in our Privacy Statement available at https://www.cancer.nsw.gov.au/privacy
