I have been waiting for this day and it's finally here.  6 months yesterday, unbelievable & it feels great. I couldn't have done it without quite a few of the people on this site.  In fact, I think it was one of the major keys in my quitting so THANK YOU - you know who you are.  I must admit I still (very rarely) think of smoking but it's so easy to shrug off now.  I can b...

This is the first time since 21st Dec I have logged in to see how everyone's going and there's so so so many new people it's fantastic.  Great to see the old crew still logging in too.  Tiger, it's now 110 days. What a year 2012 is going to be.  Think I may have to start with an excersise ragime.  All the wonderful food & drink has been great but don't really want to take ...

    Good things happen

It's now been 73 days & over $1,000 (wish I'd put that money in a jar like I intended).   74 days ago I had no idea I was about to change my life for good.  I hated so many things. I felt sorry for myself I guess. My skin was dull, teeth never white, eyes didn't sparkle, mouth was like a cats bum (wrinkly that is), always running out of money, stinky, always making sure I had ciggi...

    51 Days

Hi everyone.  I've just been trying to catch up on how everyone's going & there's a few newcomers too.  Great how the group just keeps growing.  More incentive for us all.  I made it through the weekend of camping.  Had the best time. Relaxed by the campsite, went down the rapids, swam with the kids, too much to eat & drink, more swimming and no cigarettes! Though...

    My next test

It's great to see some new faces this week. Look forward to reading how everyone's going over the next weeks....  I've got my next test coming up this week.  We're going camping next weekend.  I used to smoke like a chimney while packing & 'relaxing'.  Also, a few of our friends are casual smokers & love a fag (usually pinch ours) by the campfire at night.  I know...

I can't believe it's been 4 wks.  I have never in my adult life been without a smoke this long, and it feels amazing. I now know how all my non-smoking friends live & it feels so clean & healthy & fun & ......    I'm having a few problems still though.  I thought I'd be sleeping better by now but still wake up feeling tired. The cravings come and go.  I've...

25 days and $300 later my lungs are feeling deeper, patches are working their magic and I still haven't wanted to have a fag.  Makes me feel damn proud if I do say so myself!!!   That doesn't mean I haven't thought about it many times in a day, I have and still do, but it's not a smoke that I want.  Am still trying to work out what will fill that empty feeling I get, especially aft...

    Getting There!

Posted in Quit experiences 11 Oct 2011

I have now been smoke free for 22days. Never in my adult life have I had this freedom.  I smoked a pkt/day for 25yrs. Tried over the years different ways to give up, all gave me so much anxiety that I gave in each time. Problem was I wasn't doing it for myself, I was doing it because it was the right thing to do for many reasons as you all know. I could always find a reason to go back to it ...
