Hi people just checking in to offer my support to newbies and ongoing quitters. I been quit 3and1/2 years now and absolutely thrilled that i quit. Thank God i breathe better and able to walk up hills not like before i quit. To add to this cigarettes in my part of the world are heavily taxed e.g. 50 gms tobacco now $95. Absolutely disgraceful and i could never afford to pay such a price. I feel ...

Hi everyone, thus site has been a home to me for almost 2yrs when i decided to quit. I still check the site from time to time and do not see many recognisable names from my early days, although i feel sure that they have not regressed. The whole situation is that when one is out of the woods from smoking the thought of cigarettes disappears and one may not even have the thought any longer to visi...

    Costs up again

Well, it is the 1st of September and cigarette tax is up again in Sydney by 13% making a pack of 30 costing $35.20 a packet. What a disgraceful greedy Govt. However it is a good deterrent to not go back if you are quit like me. Anyway, i do not think i could afford to smoke at this cost. Would mean spending $175 per week at the rate Steve and i used to smoke. So, yes people think about it and d...

Hello everyone, today is officially 12mths quit for me. Ready reckoner shows i have saved just over $11000 dollars......all the more reason to persist with quitting. I feel better than when i smoked but it is a very long and hard road and one must stay on track, as one slip up and you are gone. Urges have basically disappeared but still get the odd temptation. However the urge lasts only for 1 mi...

Hi everyone, the other day was out shopping. The back stairway entrance to the shops is a meeting point for smokers......smoking illegal by the way in that area. Noticed a fellow rolling his own and was the only one there at the time. As he frisked through his pockets he looked at me and asked if i had a light. The joy i had from saying "sorry i don't smoke" was unreal.I do not judge people who s...
