Nicotine replacement

I’m 316 days in I’ve come from smoking 70 rollies a day. The price of them at the time were $50 a day. I have since bought all new furniture, decluttered my house and have learnt new ways to cope with stress anc now have hobbies to keep me busy. I quit cold turkey with nicotine replacement. I’m slowly going down off them but will never smoke again. I thought I’d never quit. I got to the point where I list my voice and was coughing all the time. I no longer need asthma medication and feel more fit. Don’t delay. It’s easier than you think.

Nice going. I am glad to hear that you are enjoying the many benefits of being non-smoker. Isn't it wonderful to regain some health benefits as well as self pride, a better lifestyle and recapturing our freedom!
You are ready to ditch nicotine altogether now. That, is the easy part. You have adjusted to the psychological phase of acceptance and enjoying your new way of life. That is what most people have a hard time letting go of. When you change your mind as to how you see smoking, it makes the transition so much easier because it is more acceptable.

Nicotine is out of your system for the most part in about 72 hours. If you are in the right frame of mind or mindset, a follower on here had no withdrawal stepping off the nrt. I had quit cold turkey, no nrt, and had the cravings for three days and after that nothing. So of course I was curious if the mindset could ease the process of nicotine elimination. It did!

Be happy! Be proud! You have done so well and I know you can ditch the nrt too.

Thanks for posting Lemongrass, I was just thinking the other day when I needed to replace my old fridge, I now have the money to do this because the amount I used to pay for smokes, is in a separate bank account, waiting for me to spend how I like, ok its not much interest in doing it this way, but the money is a reminder of what I used to waste on this habit.

I have also been on a cruise, before Corona Virus, we are now on our way back to some form of normal in Australia and I will be able to travel once again soon. Congratulations and do not be afraid to give up the Nicotine as Happiness has stated 3 days and its out of your system.

Thanks for the feedback :) I’ll take that information on board and quit nrt.

I quit nrt's after a month and didnt miss them at all. Take the plunge and lose the nrt's . You dont need them now, you just think you do

I've set my quit date for the 5/3/21. Anyone have any pointers to help me get through the cravings? I have bought nicotine patches.
