Never Going Back

So today the gf and I took the kids shopping to a big box store

Its an outting we look forward to since covid has shut it all down.. even skating or tobogganing is 🚫

It’s ok tho.. as long as it’s for the good of the compromised

So as I was about to drop them off in the front entrance ..since it was -30 Celsius today .. I catch a glimpse of 3 smokers by the doors .. maskless and puffing away

I do a drive by and a detour and now it’s down to a lone smoker.. so I dump them off and go park

As I walk over I notice the lone smoker has started on a new ciggie.. it’s freezing outside and here he is still smoking away.

As I walk by I catch a whiff and it really reeks to me.. like something really stale .. plus the sight of him hunched over .. turns my stomach

So I think to myself.. Is this how others viewed me when I smoked??

It’s 65 days .. and I don’t ever wann as go back

    Knowing there is nothing for you to want to go back to is a great feeling. You know that you are in control and don't need to be looking over your shoulder for the nicotine to jump out unawares.
    Congratulations. I am sure that your family is very proud of you too. We do have the power to change things if we have the courage and belief to try.

    That’s Awesome I want 2,I myself was in a similar position when I saw the smokers outside the pub,I knew I’d never go back to it,it’s a great liberating experience ain’t it 😀Have a great smokefree day

    Well folks, Guess who is back! Should you happen to read this Chlowe , we wish everyone one success in their quitting smoking. We just prefer to stick to those matters pertaining to addiction rather than for you to try and entertain us with your adventures. Please stick to reading and learning rather than writing and use those fingers and your time for other important things in your life.

    When we quit looking back and giving any credulence to what we are no longer interested in it is much easier to move forward. Think positive! Don't debate, it only gives it more of a chance to grab hold. Ignore the little beastie and it will eventually go away. We can quit smoking!

    I read Chloes posts and I just shook my head. She’s out there fo’sho....

    We’re here to help each other through our mess.. we don’t need any more tension

    The taste of freedom is wonderful, Iwant2, such as shame I remember huddling around shop fronts mostly with the staff from the retail stores. I didn't like myself then, now I can choose my own friends, this site was a start. Well done

    Freedom from ciggies is a great feeling. I didn’t even like smoking but I did it anyway ....

    That was crazy

    And now we smell better

    Yep.. Those were the days :) Standing out in the cold, or the heat, or even trying to find a place out of the rain, just to get that smoke in.. Could not wait to finish a meal, or a movie :) In some cases, could not wait to stop the car, so you could get out, and have that smoke ! Yep,, SMOKING MAKES YOU STUPID :)
    It is GREAT to be free :)
