Hi Candy. Congratulations on 2 years smoke free. It is a shame that you are still fighting the need and need willpower after all this time. Perhaps you will consider joining us on a regular basis and learn the mindset to make smoking a thing of the past. Learn to totally let go of its hold. Most of us here don't give it a second though after a few months. Enjoy being a non-smoker and be proud. We are.

By the time you will be reading this, you will be 2 years quit, so congratulations is in order. I have just passed that important milestone after a few attempts and I have learned much about myself during my time on this forum. Most likely it is not a craving you are experiencing it is the thoughts that cross your mind when you are in a happy or difficult situation. The idea is to let them drift away, with the emphasis on drift.

You are doing so well after 40 years, I too had the same amount of time to deal with my habitual responses, and behaviour in certain situations. You will be well over these by now, please take the time to read more posts, because we are all different in our responses. NOPE (not one puff ever) which needs to be said or thought every day, no matter how long you have quit.

Sorry to hear about your uncle, dying from smoking related causes.
My dear old grandfather died a horrible death from lung cancer. Apparently he had a blood vessel burst and he bled to death internally. His favourite cigs were Craven A, i think thats correct as he died a very long time ago.

PuffNoMore, yep, my Uncle's fave was Craven A with the Black Cat on the predominantly Red pack. And yet again icanquit have decided to block a response I made to Happiness. That's it for me, I'm done with icanquit. And if anyone asks me to make any suggestions to quitting, I will tell them, they should unequivocally avoid using this forum. It has provided nothing but angst and frustration, albeit, enough to drive me to smoke. Again, I have done this without the help of icanquit, totally useless website. Furthermore, I'm surprised you have managed to post your response, I said as much and was blocked. Goodbye icanquit, I can quit icanquit, you're useless and if you can't handle unpleasant stories about experiences, you shouldn't be running this site. I was a Police officer at one point in my life and attended murders/suicides/motor vehicle accidents. They weren't pleasant, and neither is dying from the effects of cigarrettes and lung cancer, among others. So long icanquit, I'll never return. To the rest of you, keep up with the great work.
