Just over 6 years quit.

After 53 years I took my last puff. Still got the selfie. Reason : self disgust and my family. Joined this help forum a few months later. Thank God I did. Went cold Turkey and drank voluminous amounts of really strong sweet coffee. After 3 months the real pangs went. After 6 months was totally free. $55000 saved. New extension on house. New Gibson 335 guitar. Self respect back. Still alive at 73. Who wouldnt quit ?

    Hi Dobbin. Knew you would report back. One does lose track of time. Am still 100 days ahead of you and the fact you are still there is good to know. So good to hear you are putting your $'s to good use instead of watching them turn into ash. What were we ever thinking? The further we get from that initial quit date the better off we are. So good to have left those early difficult days behind. No going back there again. I am up to $68 000 saved and that is not on current price. Carton used to cost $196 and now $420. Not a bad pay rise. Am still working full time, loving it and turned 70. See you back in a year or so.

    Hi Lia. Wow. Well done treading the way forward with your 100 days. So glad you are still here reporting your success. Yes it was odd how we could rationalise blowing our money up in ash and smoke. It all seems so confining now being the prisoner of Count nicotine. One of the biggest prizes has been the lack of constant mental and physical addiction to something that was killing me.
    Great to hear from you and stay ahead with that 100 days.
