Just popped in to say hello. 8 1/2 years quit now and very rarely think about smoking. Wonderful really considering my obsession with nicotine used to be 25/7. I quit here and at first it was not easy. After a few weeks it improved. Then , wow , one day I hadn’t thought of a cigarette. I smoked for 53 years. I was sick after my first cigarette but persisted because I wanted to be COOL. G...

Hi. I’m now over 7 1/2 years quit and thank this group for so much help. I went could Turkey after trying numerous other methods. I took a selfie smoking my last cigarette and went for it. Have now saved over $70000 and at aged 75 my lungs function really well. I really thought I was a lost cause and became saturated with nicotine in my body and mind and clogged. Smoked for over 53 years. Tha...

Hi. Over 7 years quit now and according to my plan $63000 saved. Remembering my first days it was excruciating but having smoked for 53 years I gritted my teeth and was determined. Helped by my long term quit buddy Lia who is 100 days ahead of me I rarely think of cigarettes. Considering I was totally addicted this is a small miracle. I went cold Turkey having tried everything previously. Kee...

I am just over 6 and a half years quit and mostly thanks the this forum. I pop in from time to time to express gratitude to all the friends here who helped me quit. Having smoked for 53 years it seemed an impossible task to stop. But by then I had become really disgusted with myself having reached the age of 67 and desperately trying to kill myself with the strongest cigarettes and 20 a day. ...

After 53 years I took my last puff. Still got the selfie. Reason : self disgust and my family. Joined this help forum a few months later. Thank God I did. Went cold Turkey and drank voluminous amounts of really strong sweet coffee. After 3 months the real pangs went. After 6 months was totally free. $55000 saved. New extension on house. New Gibson 335 guitar. Self respect back. Still aliv...

Hi folks. Thought I would pop in to see who is about and share a bit. Thanks to this site I am 1743 days nicotine free. 4.77 years and still I cannot believe I have managed to kick the s**t out of Me Nick OTeen. I remember well the first few weeks quitting after 53 years of smoking. Fortunately this time I knew I would succeed. I told myself that I needed a deep down commitment and to suffer what...

Just thought I would pop in having now quit for 4 years 2 months. This forum was a life saver for me as I had tried quitting so many times in the past. Smoked for 53 years and was gripped with the addiction. Hated myself for smoking. Always felt tired. Smelled of smoke. Coughing at night constantly. Fear of illness. Knew I was wasting money. I went cold turkey and held on for grim death. I wi...
