Prohabtion on selling Tobacco

There is a small country in the the pacific aiming to become cigarette free in a few years. The rest of the world is beginning to sit-up and take notice. Other countries are starting to believe it is possible because this country was the first in the world to allow women to vote in elections. Also, the first official climber to conquer Mount Everest (Edward Hillary). First sea harbour to ban nuclear powered marine craft entering their country.

We should all admire New Zealand for this bold move! Is prohibition going to work or just create some gangsterized black market?

As smoking is an addiction and not romanticized as it once was, It should have been phased out years ago. Make it a prescription , paid out of ones own pocket of course. Teach people to look at it in a different light and they probably wouldn.t start and many more might quit.

In this part of the world the smoker is always "out of pocket". It costs a fortune!

Perhaps prohibition might do both. I would assume a black market would come about and also would put a 'spot-light' on the evil's of smoking for the younger generation. Plus as you mention PuffNoMore set a good example for the rest of the world.

We all want to put a good feeling mood and a positive "spin" to outlawing the selling of cigarettes, I am extremely pleased that this country is set to be the first country and hopefully not the last? One market that springs to my mind is the cigarette and vaping craze! Not just the selling of tobacco as a 'boot-legging industry....
