Celebrating 5 Yr Milestone - Time Just fly !!

Dear All !!

I am shouting out loud here !!! ITS 5 YEARS COLD TURKEY !! When I first starting this, I never thought I can do it but after first few months or a year,it was not that tough.

Yes, there are plenty of opportunities where my friend colleagues go out for drink and smoke but it doesnt tempt me anymore . I have created this strong subconscious commitment in my head that even in dream someone offers a puff, I walk away with pride stating I left it behind.

My advice to those in the journey

1. While the sooner the better, its never late

2. NOPE - NOT ONE PUFF EVER is the MANTRA . Trust me. Put this carved out in stone in your room and you will repeat this . I learnt from various mentors here and now after 5 years i can say this is going to help you to win the war

3. Never be overconfidence - I have read stories where people went back to smoke even after 10 years of quitting so dont be overconfident and remember advice 2( NOPE) . One puff can really make or break

Enjoy quitting

Congratulations on your coveted milestone. I too am almost there in a couple of weeks, and while I could not fathom starting the dirty habit/addiction over, it is not time, but the understanding of yourself and of nicotine and why we smoked which is key to a permanent quit. I don''f feel that I am marking time, it is just who I am now, and I don't miss it or think about it at all. I am sure that you feel the same way Don't Smoke.

While I think it wise to check in on IcanQuit from time to time to remember our past and the Not One Puff mantra it is also nice to help others to succeed

I'm listening and we are hearing you loud and clear! It is so satisfying to read of these success stories. Marking time are motivating factors for me. Just like the ever-growing pile of money not going up-in-smoke!
Not to mention self-confidence, pride and peace of mind!
    From heavy smoker to NOPE.
    Best thing I ever done!
