Still loving not smoking

Hi Guys. I haven’t written a story for a while . I gave up smoking on the 21st November 2012 after smoking for 37 years.

The big thing for me was I coughed morning and night.I had just had an abdominal operation so coughing was going to strain the op.

Since then I’ve worked on fitness and at 62 still do a physical job 5.5 days per week . I’ve moved from 109 kg to 91 and feel great and on top of that I’ve saved over a100k which I’ve spent on holidays and concerts.

Give up smoking and start living

We really don't have a clue what we are missing or how much self harm we are doing until we quit smoking. Life as a non-smoker is great and I have yet to hear those who realize that they are not losing a thing , but, gaining so much, to complain.
We were brainwashed to think that quitting the addiction meant years of inner turmoil , cravings and a life of misery. What hogwash!
You, I and many more have found the desire, strength and determination to quit and remain quit. Rarely, a whiff on smoke might evolk a memory, but we let it go with hardly a thought. Cravings DON'T last!
