Day 4 of not smoking

Hi I'm on my " I've lost count on how many times I've attempted to quit smoking !!"

This is my second attempt using the patches to quit, and I'm Day 4.

To say it's easy is an understatement. It's so Dam hard. My skin is so itchy, headaches, fatigue, mood swings, lack of motivation, trying to keep busy to avoid the temptations, avoiding sugar based foods because they will only put my weight back on.

Day 3-4 was when I caved last time and started smoking again . So I'm trying my best this time to avoid the triggers so I don't cave again.

I want a smoke so bad, but I knowing best for my health to quit, doctor told me to quit because I have had a cough for 2 months now. I've actually slept all night last night with out coughing. And I feel amazing today.

I know I have a long road ahead of me to get through this battle, but I know in the long run it will hugely benefit me. It's just staying strong and avoiding wanting a smoke when I'm bored and changing my mindset that is the challenge

    Good morning Momof3
well done on achieving 4 days, I had a similar cough that ended up providing me with the incentive to finally find a way to quit. the most positive encouraging thing you found in 4 days is your cough stopped that hopefully will inspire you to continue your journey, it is hard at first, but as many on this site have discovered and will advise you from their own experiences that it does get easier with each day and the benefits and rewards from quitting are huge .

Consider every attempt as a learning experience which teaches you about your self and to read on a learn about nicotine. You are changing your mindset and the proof is that you keep desiring to change. We did and you can. I found that joining a support group like this make the difference for me. I hope it works for you too.
Read, learn and think positive! You can succeed, maybe easier than you think. It really is a mind game.

    Thankyou for the support

    I'm now on day 8
My first week done and dusted. It was so hard to not fall back on old habits. Training my mindset to not think about them has been stressful
It was a part of my daily routine.
Sometimes I have moments where I don't feel I need the patch, but then something triggers me and I feel the need to grab a cigarette.
    It's baby steps i know.
