Vaping in pregnancy

Vaping during pregnancy is not safe. Nicotine and the chemicals in vapes and tobacco products can harm you and your baby.

Nicotine from vapes or cigarettes passes through the umbilical cord and placenta to the baby. This nicotine can harm the baby’s developing brain and other organs.

The best thing for you and your baby’s health is to be vape-free and smoke-free.

There is support available to help you quit.

  • Quitline offers non-judgemental support and advice on the best ways to quit during pregnancy. Call Quitline on 13 7848.
